2Crew Challenger Round Preview September 15, 2015

2Crew Challenger Round Preview

Brad Nation collectively rejoices as our favorite driver Brad Keselowski is once again #GoingFor2 - the social media hashtag and rally cry which of course refers to the Team Penske veteran competing for a coveted 2nd NASCAR Championship. Entering the Chase on the momentum of a career record nine-straight Top-10 finishes is a testament to the consistency Keselowski and the 2Crew have shown down the stretch. And there doesn't seem to be any signs of slowing down. The Challenger Round features three tracks where the team has celebrated recent success: Chicagoland Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, and Dover International Speedway.

First Things 1st

On Sunday, September 20th Keselowski will take on the 1.5-mile tri-oval of Chicagoland Speedway where he has been on fire in the annual September event; recording 2 Wins, 3 Top-5's, and 4 Top-10's in four races dating back to 2011. Taking into consideration Team Penske's statistical dominance at Intermediate tracks, you have to put Keselowski in the conversation as one of the favorites to take the checkered flag in the first race of the Chase. Wouldn't that be nice?

Top-10's & A Lobster

Next on the schedule is the 1.058-mile oval of New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 27th. In twelve career Sprint Cup Series starts, Keselowski has recorded one Win, 5 Top-5's, and 7 Top-10's. More impressive is that in his last three races at NHMS he hasn't placed below 7th while accumulating a total of 316 laps led. Having just one finish outside the Top-10 (11th) in his last eight races at NHMS - look for Keselowski to continue to display that kind of consistency when it matters most.

The Wait Is Over - Würth At Dover!

Finally, it doesn't get any more pressure-filled if you're one of the sixteen drivers competing for a spot in the Contender Round than October 4th at Dover International Speedway. Referred by media and fans as the "Knockout Race", because four drivers will be eliminated following the conclusion of the event - expect the unexpected. Brad Keselowski will be back behind the wheel of the No. 2 Würth Ford Fusion, the car he drove to a thrilling win back in March at Fontana which virtually punched his ticket into NASCAR's postseason. Atter failing to record a Top-10 finish at Dover until his clutch victory in September 2012 during his Championship campaign, Keselowski has three Top-5's in his last five races at Monster Mile - including back-to-back runner-up finishes during the 2014 season.
