Road Course Redemption

After a brief holiday break in racing action for Father’s Day, NASCAR returns this weekend to Sonoma Raceway. Brad Keselowski currently sits sixth place in the drivers standings; a position he has been in since May 3rd. He trails leader, Kevin Harvick by 96 points approaching the 16th race of the 2015 season. Road courses, such as the 1.99 mile Sonoma track, have been a consistent challenge for the Team Penske veteran throughout his career. In 10 Sprint Cup Series starts at road courses, Keselowski has yet to record a victory.

Additionally, Sonoma Raceway is one of only two current Sprint Cup Series tracks that the 2012 NASCAR Champion hasn't recorded a Top-5 finish (the other being Indianapolis Motor Speedway). In five career NSCS starts at Sonoma, he has an average start of 19 and an average finish of 20 with seven total laps led. His best finish was 10th place in June 2011.

Keselowski eagerly stated improvements are coming, “Sonoma has been a big challenge for myself and the team. We have made a few adjustments on how we are approaching this race and that itself will allow us to improve this weekend and going forward. I love a challenge, and I have a feeling that our No. 2 Alliance Truck Parts Ford is going to be strong at Sonoma."
